G-Unit’s latest effort may have tanked but 50 Cent is still laughing all the way to the bank while confidently claiming the bragging rights of hip hop's top earner.
Forbes unleashed its "Hip Hop Cash Kings" list today (August 18) and the G-Unit honcho is sitting pretty at No. 1 with $150 million in earnings from the past 12 months.
A good chunk from the $150 million came from his stake in Vitamin water giant Glacéau which was bought last year by Coca Cola bought 4.1 million.
50 earned the rest of his dough from his G-Unit clothing line and record label, films, videogames and his albums.
Expect 50 to stay at the top. He is currenlty working on a mining partnership with South African billionaire Partrice Motsepe
Jay-Z came in at No. 2 on the list with $82 million. Hov got much of his money from his last album American Gangster and his stakes in the New Jersey Nets and endorsement deals with Dell and Budweiser.
Expect Jay’s clout to go up next year thanks to his $150 million deal with Live Nation ONG> earlier this year.
Sean “Diddy” Combs landed to No. 3 with $35 million. Diddy's cake came from Sean John, his two reality-TV shows and releases from Bad Boy Records. Diddy also made money from his deal with Ciroc Vodka.
