I was thinking long and hard about who I should do a 'BBB Artist To Watch Out For' segment and the answer was right there in front of me on my computer. I was about to throw in a new One Chance track in that last Lazy Sunday Link post and I figure, "why not do one of them?" lol. So let me introduce you to One Chance....
One Chance consists of four members: Rob Brent, Courtney Vantrese, and brothers Jon Gordon and Michael Gordon. The Chicago-based group had been together for 6 years before they got a chance to do a showcase for R&B superstar Usher. Out of all the groups that got to showcase for Usher and his US Records label staff, One Chance was chosen and signed to the label. With the guidance of Usher, One Chance got even better at their craft and got to showcase their new found skill improvement on the Scream Tour. After gaining numerous fans from the Scream Tour and Up Close & Personal Tour, One Chance was heading in the right direction after all the hardships they had to go through to make it to this point.
They dropped their first single "Look At Her" with Fabo of D4L and things seemed to be looking up. Early this year the first official single for their debut album was released. "U Can't" featuring Yung Joc built the group even a bigger buzz with their core fans and even introduced the group to new ones, but their album has yet to drop. I'm still wondering what happened with that, there is no information on any sites detailing the delay, but we are all familiar with labels pushing back projects. I don't know why Rico Love's album hasn't dropped either, both Rico and One Chance have been signed since '06/early '07 so hopefully their debuts are dropping in the 4th quarter or early next year.
