Tired of hearing disappointing material from the average “hip hop group”? Well who isn’t? And The Scholars plan to change that all too familiar feeling. Raised on opposite sides of Pittsburgh, “GhostWriter” and “JFK” always had two things in common, the love for music and intelligence. The two met during the 2005 high school year when GhostWriter was a junior and JFK was a senior. The two recognized their shared love for hip hop music but held off on working together musically until the fall of 2006 of which GhostWriter and JFK attended California University of PA. The two began causing a lyrical frenzy on campus. Performing at talent shows garnered these two a noteworthy buzz throughout the University.

Academically dismissed from college, The Scholars continued to make astounding music and now boast a much anticipated mixtape project “Smarten Up!!” which is projected to move units past the four digit mark, locally! Truly unique and simply incredible, The Scholars show PLENTY of promise. Potential? No. The Scholars are a proven threat to opposing rosters.
