At this point we’ve all seen the videos. We’ve heard both sides to the story and we’ve listened to all the dis tracks. Max B is done with Byrd Gang. Considered by fans to be an integral part of the crew he definitely did not leave on good terms but it’s also no secret that he was responsible for some of the crew’s best work. Now standing on his own two feet Max B is hitting the ground running and taking control of his own destiny.
Already having a solid fan base and known for his infectious hook writing abilities Max has been making waves in the industry all by himself. Byrd Gang might be a thing of the past for Max but he has his own crew Gain Greene and according to Max they plan on taking over the game. Sixshot.com caught up with Max B to discuss his departure from Byrd Gang, the kind of dough he’s pulling in off of his music, and his future in hip-hop.
Sixshot.Com: What’s good man, how’s everything?
Max B: Everything is wavy man, wavy.
Sixshot.Com: So you signed that three-album deal. How did everything work out with that?
Max B: It was cool but that’s all done now. I just finished up the third project so it’s a wrap.
Sixshot.Com: Are you happy wi th the response you’re getting to the Vigilante joint?
Max B: Yeah, the fans respond to all of my movements because they know that it’s always going to be good music. At the end of the day it’s all about that good music and I always deliver that.
Sixshot.Com: Max, I know you’re a real talented songwriter and real good on the hooks. Where did you pick that up?
Max B: It’s just practice man. You gotta keep doing it over and over. I jut take it one verse at a time, one bar at a time, one song at a time, you know? I keep working at it until it’s perfect and even then it still needs more work.
