Hip Hop's "Vote For BamBam" Barack Obama Grassroots Campaign

Young Hip Hoppers have banded together to initiate the interactive 'Vote For BamBam' Voter Registration and Election Awareness grassroots campaign in support of Senator Barack Obama's bid for the Presidency
New York, NY - The campaign is headed by the popular hip hop entrepreneur and social activist Roc Cayard. According to Cayard, "Since the launch of this campaign, one of the most disturbing discoveries that our volunteers have encountered in almost every major urban city is that a large percentage of the young adults that are eligible to vote are not even aware of their respective states voter registration deadline. Aside from that, at least a good 30 percent of them are not even aware of the exact date of the actual presidential election". This is an alarming fact because the 'Vote 4 BamBam' grassroots voter registration campaign to support Barack Obama's presidential candidacy is not one of those televised advertising campaigns nor is it one of those celebrity-paid web-only reach out campaign movements.

The 'Vote 4 BamBam campaign volunteers are actually in the streets everyday, reaching out and talking to real people on a one on one basis. "We were motivated to initiate the "Vote 4 BamBam' Voter registration campaign after reading in a major newspaper that 'Obama is the 1st political candidate to be marketed like a high end consumer good'. Cayard continues, "Then I thought to myself, we've all seen and heard of the Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Prada clothing brand and know that it's cool to have those brands, but how many of us can say that we've actually have those brands in our closets?" . The main goal of the Vote For BamBam campaign is to make the election process fun, cool and exciting enough to ensure that the "Obamania" hype translates into actual votes on the November 4th, election day". Now that Obama has selected the politically experienced Joe Biden to fill in the voids of his short but extraordinary political life, we can now rest a sure that the George Bush way of doing business of ignoring the People does not continue on with John McCain in office. Campaign representatives are based in Queens, New York; Miami, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Detroit, Michigan and Los Angeles, California have been getting the message out to as many minority young adults between the age of 18 and 34 as possible that registering to vote and actually voting is an opportunity that they shouldn't miss out on.

Each campaign volunteer sets out everyday armed with one question and a bag full of 'Vote For BamBam' campaign buttons to ask and confirm that everyone that they speak to knows when their states voter registration deadline is and the specific date of the presidential election. If they give the correct answer they are then rewarded with their choice design of a free 'Vote For BamBam' button that refers them back to the Vote For BamBam website where they can further educate themselves about the upcoming election. The Vote For BamBam Grassroots campaign is one of a few urban voter registration Campaign that's been initiated for this coming election. Other notable urban campaigns are the Rock The Vote web campaign and also the Rapper T.I's Respect My Vote Campaign. These three campaigns aim at increasing Voter Registration and Election Awareness in the urban community. Check out www.Vote4BamBam.org to support the movement.
