Have u ever heard of the phrase "Diamond in the Ruff" or "Perfect Timing"? It was summertime, the year of 1997, a year that would take a young man's life in another direction. Kenneth C. Coby, also known to many as "Soundz", the offspring of singers, songwriters, and musicians, came to Atlanta from Milwaukee with aspirations to give life a "Do Over", a new start, new surroundings with new possibilities. For the average person that knows about moving from one habitat to a totally different one is very difficult. His parents moved to Atlanta to follow an American dream....To make it in the Music business! but little did they know...their first born was a musical anthology in the making. While growing up in the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia, in Decatur, he attended High School(Redan H.S.) and developed his love for Sports and Earning money. It wasn't until his senior year that the head coach of the schools basketball program cut him in the final tryout. It was devistating blow, ofcourse he wanted to follow his dreams of being a professional basketball player but God had a different plan for this young man.
While technology was evolving he started to put time into rapping, writing in his compostion notebook aspired by Jay-Z's blueprint album, he wanted to follow in the footsteps of a sucessful rapper. A friend of his heard him rap and told him he got a progam off the internet and he was trying to make beats. That program ended up changing his life forever. Calling himself Soundmind, his rap career was going nowhere and his beats were progressing every month. Its was kinda funny he recalls "I was in the lab wit one of my homies from NY, and he always nick named my Soundmind, and he called me sounds! when he got locked up, in rememberence I changed my name to Sounds and put a little pizzazz on it and took the "S" out and put a "Z" there And the rest is history".
His musical tracks borders on genius, but not because of his innate ability to deliver smooth R&B tracks, or hard hittin Hip Hop beats, but the diversity of cultures underneath it all that serves as the driving force that makes his sound so vigorous. He has a full understanding of what music is and should be. Soundz is also a Singer/Rapper himself and with this high energetic wisdom, he brings to his music creative excellence, which makes them increasingly appealing to all types of audiences, music industry moguls and affiliates. It caught the eye of one particular mogul, Mr. Usher Raymond, when he heard a track that One chance recorded which ended up being their first single, "Look at her".
After contiuous progression and growth, Usher made him a offer that he couldn't refuse. "This is perfect timing" he says, "I wasn't ready a year ago I can't even lie, but now....I'm confident in succeeding in anything I put my mind to". Under Infra-Red Management, Soundz and has been fortunate to work with some of the hottest label affiliates, such as: J Records, Atlantic Records, Jive, Ush Records, Blackground, Koch, TVT, Grand Hustle. His repertoire consists of working with the following artists like; One Chance(J records), Bun B(Rap-A-Lot), Jadakiss (Def Jam), Young Dro (Atlantic), Usher(Jive), I-15(Interscope), Just A Girl (Universal),Pitbull (TVT), Trina (Slip-n-Slide), Young Steff (Atlantic),Young Boss, Melissa Lujan, Ciara, Rico Love, Tank, Noah and other signed artists as well. He currently landed himself a single on the new R&B sensation Young Steff called "Take It or Leave It" on Atlantic Records, You are now witnessing history in the making, Enjoy.
As you can tell from the above bio, Soundz is tha bizness. I mean Usher fuckin' with you should mean something, Usher is a megastar, he only fux with the best on all ends of the spectrum as far as music is concerned. Soundz has been makin' some huge records, this guy definitely has the skill and drive to get up into that category known as 'super producer.' I already personally think dude is a super producer, but me being a stronger believe in the WI movement makes me a bit biased lol.
