What's happenin' everybody? It's Saturday so you know I gotta get my rant on, there is stuff that is constantly grindin' my gears, so you can bet this segment will go on FOREVER! What's grindin' my gears this week you ponder? Well that my friends is this bullshit ass movement known as the '12 track album.' I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about, all these major label releases with 12-13 tracks droppin'. What kind of fuck shit is this?!?...Oh how do I hate this bullshit...
One would say "well if all the tracks are dope then it's not too much of a problem," and I'd agree with you, but 90 percent of the time this is not the case. Major labels drop allegedly good albums with only 12 songs, A LOT. I know album sales are down and all that, but seriously get some new tactics. I'll tell you why they do this, it's so they can re-release the album after a few month campaign of marketing/pushing the album. Not a smooth move labels, not a smooth move.
Why waste money on marketing/pressing an album again when you could have just made a GOOD album with 18 tracks? You knock out at least 12 single worthy tracks and your good money, it still leaves room for error. I'm not gonna keep droppin' knowledge, because why should I when I'm not getting paid for this brilliant info? LOL. Nobody can afford shit as it is, so what makes you think people can buy an album twice? Seriously, get your heads out of your asses. You're educated professionals who should have tactics to make your money/music work for you. I guess that's not the case, meh, o well, your lose, hahaha. That's what it is people, them 12 song albums piss me the fuck off, the hell if I'm buying something with that small of an amount of songs, might as well just download the singles because usually the rest of the album is filler or close to filler quality. That's whut it dew this week with what's grinding my gears...stay tuned for next week!
