When you mention Canada and Hip Hop in the same sentence some people get confused, although it is clearly evident that there is indeed a big Canadian Hip Hop presence in the game, which is growing day by day. With the likes of artists such as Drake, Richie Sosa, Kardinal Offishall, Bishop Brigante and Belly, Canada is making it known that it is a force to be reckoned with in the urban music scene. T-Dot/Champagne Gang representative Luu Breeze is most definitely in the upper echelon of artists who are putting on for Canada and making it known that Canada is far more than meets the eye.

Kyle "Luu Breeze" Willis was born January 2nd, 1986 in Scarborough on the East End of Toronto and grew up in Orton Park metro housing project. Breeze was raised by a single mother of two boys. Breeze's mom had to work twice as hard to support for her children and is one of his biggest inspirations in life, she always told him to follow his dreams and be the best he can be. At an early age of 8 years old Breeze was introduced to the art form of Hip Hop, laregly through his older brother who showed him the ropes. Breeze credits his Hip Hop influences as 2Pac, Jay-Z, Nas, UGK, Notorious B.I.G., Kurupt, M.O.P., Slick Rick, Scarface, OutKast, T.I., & Lil Wayne among others. Breeze really started to make noise in the local Toronto Hip Hop scene after being featured in RapSheets DVD for "Story Goes On/Prove Something" and would release his first underground mixtape "The Prince of the Dot Vol. 1" in 2005. Luu would continue to appear on local featured mixtapes, college radio stations and local Hip Hop DVD's such as Juice DVD, RapSheets DVD & Champ DVD Magazine in the upcoming years. In 2006-2007 Breeze had his first break in the Canadian commercial scene as his hit single "Million Dolla Dream" gathered rotation on Toronto Urban Radio station Flow 93.5 and peaked at 4 plays a day, acomping him to his second release and first "official" mixtape "The Prince of the Dot Vol. 2" which went on to move 20,000+ units. Breeze has been featured on performances bills for such acts as Mobb Deep, Joe Budden, & The Diplomats aswell as featuring in numerous amounts of local Hip Hop events in Toronto and Canada. The streets of Toronto claimed Breeze "The Prince of the Dot" in 2005 and Luu accepted the tittle until late 2007, attempting to move away from cliche titles that many associated themselves with, yet he still holds a responsibilty to be "the" voice of urban Canada. With the city of Toronto, the province of Nova Scota and all of Canada on his back added with his unique flow and abduance of swagger, Luu Breeze is taking the entertainment industry to new heights.

It is quite clear that Luu Breeze and the Champagne Gang are pushing the T-Dot/Canada movement to the forefront of the game. With talks of possible label deals with Ludacris's Disturbing The Peace and Atlantic Records the future is looking very bright for Luu Breeze and his movement. Luu Breeze is here to stay, and with his help, it's only a matter of time before the entire world figures out that Canada is Hip Hop. Luu recently dropped a prequel to his album "Topic Of Discussion" in the form of a mixtape called "The Pre-Topic" mixtape. I can honestly say that out of the 100's of mixtapes I've listened to this year that this tape is in the top 10. I knew the Canadian Hip Hop movement was a force to watch out for, but until I listened to this tape I didn't realize the magnitude of their movement. It is indeed something to watch out for, do it now before it's too late! Below you will find "The Pre-Topic" mixtape along with Luu's new single "Charge It To The Game." You will also see the video for Luu Breeze's club banger "Break Em Off." Peep this stuff and hit up Luu Breeze on myspace NOW! Big ups to Big Tay for the info/music!
