Yes indeed, we shall be saying those words in the above picture in a few days, I suppose I better shine some light on what I thought was poppin' musicwise this year eh? I wanted to go ham and make a bunch of awards and ish like the other sites do, but time is not on my side right now :\ Either way, below you will find my picks for favorite Rap/Hip-Hop album of the year, R&B album of the year, favorite mixtape of the year, and my favorite 10 joints I was jammin' extra heavy, let's start it off with Rap/Hip-Hop album of the year...
Rap/Hip Hop Album Of The Year=Scarface-Emeritus

Whether this really is his last solo effort or not didn't play that big of a role in my selection of this album, but it played a role, just figured I'd let ya know lol. Scarface is one of those dudes who keeps it real and does what he knows whatever the circumstance. To me, Scarface=one of the most consistent artists ever, just not rap artist, Throughout his lengthy career, duke brought the heat, and he never sugar coated shit. If you have a trill bone in your body you know you was fuckin' heavy with the intro J. Prince layed down. Every song in between the illie intro and the sad, but rightfully directed outro (only rightfully directed if he doesn't make another solo lol) was, oh wait, I need someone's help for this...[Dylan From Da Band]HOT FIYAAAAAAAAH![/Dylan From Da Band] Mr. 'Face, I salute you sir, for keepin' it 100 and never breaking the mold of greatness you created throughout your career, your contributions to the game will never be forgotten. HIT THIS LINK HERE RIGHT NOW to cop this album, if you don't, I'll assume you are broke and/or don't like trill shit lol. Well there goes that, onto my pick for R&B album of the year...
R&B Album Of The Year=Sterling Simms-Yours, Mine & The Truth

It would have been real easy for me to pick the Avant album or A. Ham's or Jamie Foxx's album as R&B album of the year, but the easy way out=fugazi, you diggin' what I'm shovelin'? Given the circumstances, Mr. Simms's album clearly is the victor to me. This cat had NO promo atall for this ish, I seen one interview that Tapemasters Inc. did, shouts to Lexx for doin' that. The shit was so suspect me and the homie Kingz thought this shit was just a myth, we didn't think it was actually dropping. He didn't have a video for his first single because the label wasn't feelin' his choice, it seemed like this guy was doomed, not even close folks. Throw in Tricky Stewart & The Dream in the mix, with a little production from Ill Mil tracklacer Soundz, you have yourself a sick ass R&B album. If making babies and having soulful music in your life isn't your cup of tea don't HIT THIS LINK RIGHT HERE TO COP THE ALBUM. If those things mentioned are something you're about, then copping Sterling Simms's album "Yours, Mine & The Truth" would be a pretty sound decision. There goes the pick for R&B album...time for my pick for mixtape of the year...
Mixtape Of The Year=DJ Hurricane, DJ Omega Red & DJ D-New Present: Luu Breeze-The Pre-Topic Mixtape

Mixtape Of The Year=DJ Hurricane, DJ Omega Red & DJ D-New Present: Luu Breeze-The Pre-Topic Mixtape

Even with the RIAA and whatever other douchebag organization it is that playa hates on mixtapes, 2008 brought some pretty sick tapes, out of all the picks I had to make, this one was probably the hardest. I had to make a pick based on what tape personally effected me the most because there was too many raw tapes, I can't pick more than one ya know lol. Until I fucked with Luu Breeze's "Pre-Topic" mixtape I honestly had no clue Canada was so sick wit it. I'll admit, I wasn't incredibly hip to the scene up there, but Luu Breeze & Co. bitch slapped the fuck outta me with this one. They was all like "ayo, BFochs, we got that heat foo, quit sleepin' bitch *SLAP*" Lol, message received Mr. Breeze & Clean Nawf, message received. Ya'll really need this one in the collection, PRONTO! HIT UP THE LINK RIGHT HERE TO GET UP ON SOME OF THE ILLEST SHIT THE CLEAN NAWF HAS TO OFFER! And finally...the 10 jams I was jammin' extra hard in '08...Peep each one and then read the nice description of why I picked these joints...
A.B.N.-Still Throwed
Z-Ro The Crooked and Trae The Truth link up for some of that nasty Assholes By Nature ish all us trill mofos can enjoy with this song. Never hurts to let the peeps know you're 'still throwed' ya dig?
Anthony Hamilton Ft. David Banner-I'm Cool
Anthony Hamilton is gully on the R&B tip, dude is so soulful it should be a gotdamn crime lol. The whole concept of this song, with added David Banner feature, make "I'm Cool" extra wavy in my book, and people wonder why Anthony Hamilton out sold Plies first week, it's because the masses enjoy real, soulful shit more than the same ole story, [Juvenile]Ya understand?!?[/Juvenile]
Ya Boy-100 Bars Of Death
Not a whole lot to say about this one other than that Ya Boy shows you why he's called the Bay Area Bully, Ya Boy=should have blown up by now, fuck the rap game!
Ace Hood Ft. Trey Songz-Ride
Having T-Pain and another rapper (in this case Rick Ross) didn't wow me in '08 [see "Cash Flow"], not until I heard this cut from Florida young gunner Ace Hood I didn't even pay close attention to what he had going on, maybe it was the hook from Mr. Songz, who knows, either way, this shit went ham to me, so much so, that it was one of my 10 favorite jams of this year.
Young Jeezy-Who Dat
Jeezy went fuckin' hard in '08. "The Recession" was really sick, my second favorite album to Mr. Facemob's actually. Shawty Redd went in with this beat, it made you think it was a bonus cut off "Thug Motivation 101" or somethin. When you mix a heavy Shawty Redd-produced beat in with some real spit from Mr. Jeezy, you my friends, have yourself a BANGER!...this ain't the only Jeezy-related jam that I picked...watch out for the other one!
Scarface Ft. The Product & Z-Ro-Soldier's Story
Facemob+his homies from The Product+Z-Ro on a hook+real street scripture that makes you say "Preach!"=a song I fucked with HEAVY in '08, the crazy shit is that this album didn't drop until 4th quarter and I STILL jammed this song way more than a lot of ish from this year, craziness eh?
Young Jeezy Ft. Nas-My President Is Black
I don't think I really need to give too big of a description for this one. The whole premise of the title and whose in the song should do me justice lol. Our president is black! [Birdman]Belee Dat! Brrrrrrr[/Birdman]
Killer Mike-Can You Hear Me
Killer Mike-Can You Hear Me
Killer Mike is a real ass dude, "Pledge Allegiance To The Grind II" was very solid. This song right here is pretty damn serious. Dude who's singin' on the hook did use autotune, but the song is so epic to me I didn't even realize it at first lol. Peep game!
Young Jeezy Ft. Kanye West-Put On
Ooooooh, I tricked ya! Three instead of two! Lol...Drumma Boy came fonky with the production for this joint and Mr. West and Mr. 17.5 ripped this shit. I think 'Put On' is my favorite phrase from '08, it's definitely not "watch me do the Bird Walk!" lmfao. Well, now you know what the Fochsman was fuckin' with heavy in the 0ocho...200mine here we come!
