Born on the West coast and influenced by the East, Zach Richards b.k.a. Phene has gone from fledgling emcee to an artist to watch.

A transplant who has lived on both coasts and now calls Atlanta home, he used the vast experiences he gained growing up in this world to become one of the premier up and coming emcees. Why the name Phene? To keep it simple, "Music brewed an addiction. An undeniable urge to play a part within the hip-hop community, & spread wisdom through real life messages."

In March 2008, Phene released "The Spokesman (Hosted by Tapemasters Inc & Dub Floyd)," a street LP which has garnered rave reviews by various publications. Phene was able to collaborate with producers across the country such as Djay Cas, Vudu Spellz, Cheta, Tempt, and more.

At the 2007 Central PA Hip-Hop Awards, Phene was named Lyricist of the Year, and honored for the Best Mixtape of the Year, followed by Best Male Artist in 2008. Already under his belt are five solo mix projects and over 200 mixtape appearances.

Constantly grinding to expand his work, Phene has generated a strong following locally, as well as online. Tours and live shows have contributed to the success, performing beside artists like Oschino (State Property) and opening for Cassidy (Full Surface/J Records). Guest appearances on numerous DVD's, newspaper coverage, & interviews with area TV shows & websites conclude things are headed in the right direction.
