Although those in the know understand that Wisconsin does indeed have a budding music scene, it's still quite clear on a large spectrum our music scene is not getting the respect it deserves. Folks, I can't say this enough, we have raw producers, raw artists, and raw DJ's. One of these raw DJ's I speak of is that dude in the above photo, Tony Neal. I'm quite confident that some of you know who he is, but those that don't, it's time to get familiar!
Tony Neal has been puttin' it down on the 1's and 2's in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a hot minute. Besides the fact of him being one with turntablism, he also founded THE BIGGEST AND MOST INFLUENTIAL DJ CREW IN THE WORLD the CoreDJs! From what I heard, Tony was sick of DJ's not getting the respect they deserved from artists and the industry for supporting them so he basically said fuck the bullshit, we gonna get ours. If that's not some trill shit people I don't know what it is...
On top of him being the creator of the CoreDJ's, Tony is an A&R at a little label you might have heard of called Konvict Muzik, I don't know, I think you might know about that, not sure lol. Tony Neal wears many hats, but one of the most important ones is "Wisconsin Representer." I mean this guy has his own day in Wisconsin, his own day! They just don't hand out days for shits and giggles, you gotta earn 'em, Tony Neal has definitely earned that and all the other prestigious accolades he has received in his career thus far.
People down talk our state and our music scene, but they seem to forget, that one of the elements of hip hop, DJing, has it's biggest coalition in Wisconsin. A lot of my e-associates say I'm puttin' Wisconsin on the map with my contributions to the scene on my blog and throughout the e-streets. I'm flattered by those comments, but my work doesn't even come close to what Tony Neal has done for our state and music community. It's people like Tony Neal that make me proud to be a Wisconsinite. Keep doin' it big Tony, we'll be on top before we know it! WI OR BUST!
