Milphis-the combination of Milwaukee, WI and Memphis, TN. Milphis is the term ToneTheONE uses to describe his upbringing between the two cities. Milphis also lead to the sound that ToneTheONE has developed musically.
Fredric Antonio Stanley Jr. was born in 1985, on the Southside of Memphis TN. After living in Memphis for 7 years, he and his family moved to Milwaukee, WI. They lived there together for about 3 years and he moved back to Memphis. Tone eventually returned to Milwaukee as a 15 year old for good.
Upon his return to Milwaukee, Tone was taken under the wing of his cousin; producer/rapper/singer Talia'ferro. He began teaching Tone about music. Meanwhile, Tone began experimenting with Music Generator on the Sony Playstion video game system. The first beat Tone ever made was on Playstation!
Starting off as a hobby, he would come home and make beat, after beat, after beat, getting on his mother's nerves. While attending John Marshall High School, he observed how students would battle rap each other in the lunch room and how serious they took it. As he started to blend in more, he noticed there was one special out of the crowd, one by the name of Freeze (AKA Damien Sumler)
He reached out to Freeze, to come check his production. It took a little while, but when the contact was made the two united. They formed "The 2 Greatz" under RenaiZZance Entertainment.
Intially, Tone wasn't known for rap, just having hot beats. Until while making the song, "Pain-N-Heartache," Tone stepped outside his box and requested to add a verse on the song. He never looked back from there and continued to hone his rhyme skills.
With two group albums, (Tone and Freeze) , "Movin Precise," and "The 2 Greatz," 5 solo albums/mixtapes over the course of 5 years; Tone is just getting started and has built a sizeable following in Southeastern Wisconsin. Tone was a semi-finalist in the "Miltown Beatdown" (production competition for beat makers in SE Wisconsin). He is posed to give the rest of the world a taste of the "Milphis sound."
He has worked with various artists in Milwaukee, such as: Talia'ferro, Sosa of Silent Threat Music, Bill Martel of Pure Game, Bandana & Link of Grind Gang and many more to come. ToneTheONE has developed himself as an artist/producer and is ready to take on the industry.
ToneTheONE is one of those artists who you gotta play extra close attention to people...because he's good at rapping AND producing, a lot of producer/rappers shine harder in one aspect, but he's more balanced than the average entertainer. Here's a little fun fact folks, ToneTheONE is related to Streetz N Young Deuces too!!! He actually has a song with them that you can peep below.
