How can someone be “imperfectly perfect?” It is the art of understanding your imperfections to be, not a character flaw, but a representation of authenticity. It is the act of taking those imperfections and making them not only socially acceptable, but sought after. It is a trait that permits one to be brutally honest and unflatteringly introspective. In an industry full of calculated marketing gimmicks where artists artificially craft their image, local hip-hop artist iLL B possesses something special. Something that we all have, but we are to self-conscious to reveal. Something REAL.

Born Brandon Alexander Cegers and raised on the Northside of Milwaukee, WI, he lived literally a window away from the projects. Here, he was able to witness the harsh reality of poverty without directly suffering from the disadvantages. Being a captivating writer at a very young age, he became enthralled in hip-hop at age 9. With his brother Ronnie “Ron Bacardi” Cegers learning production and molding iLL B’s rap skills, they formed Off The Block Entertainment.

iLL B shares with his audience that he has not yet found who he wants to be. He gives his audience front row seats to watch the struggle unfold on his ongoing mixtape series “Who Is iLL B?”. His music inspires, while at the same time, forces you to reflect on yourself. iLL B also likes to show that music can be fun without violence and degradation. His ultimate goal is for his listeners feel comfortable with who they are, and to be unafraid of change.
