This Colorado Singer/Songwriter/Producer/MC is Truly A 'Diamond' In The Rough...Check Out Ricky Jewelz!

Born November 23rd 1989 on Thanksgiving in Denver, CO, rapper, songwriter, and producer, Ricky Jewelz began working on music at an early age. Starting with piano lessons at the age of 5, to writing songs at the age of 6, Rick knew there was something great destined for him with music. At the age of 8, Rick began recording his own tapes on his family’s karaoke machine. He sold the tapes at school while in the 3rd grade.

Fast forward a few years to the 6th grade when Rick Jewelz began recording, and distributing his own CD’s to his classmates in the hallways. Things weren’t always so great for young Ricky Jewelz, in mid-sixth grade he began hanging out with gang members, and becoming more and more like the people around him. The music was never far away, even through these times of change. Rick continued making songs and recording daily.

In 2004 Rick got more focused on music, and began leaning towards battles to get a name for himself. He and his crew shut down numerous teams in their area, but decided it was time to go bigger. In 2007 Rick Jewelz started grinding hard, recording more than 225 songs that year, and releasing his first street album "The Rebellion" hosted by Dallas DJ, DJ Black Jesus. This was Rick’s first encounter to light success.

In the time following, Rick began getting a heavier buzz in the industry. In the 3rd quarter of 2008 linking with Freck Billionaire, Red Café, and Fabolous, over his saucy production "Money Chaser," Which became Freck Billionaire's single off of his debut street album "The Rich Yung Report." The song was instantly cosigned by DJ Clue and played on New York's heavy weight station, Power 105.1 FM. The song was also on various mixtapes through out the nation, and hiphop sites/blogs. Ricky Jewelz also produced a song by Freck Billionaire and Fat Joe, entitled "Hustle For" off the album. As well as being featured on 2 songs "Dont Talk Much" and "Money Man" which featured Fabolous's brother Paul Cain as well. Fast forward a few months and there was a song leaked on the internet that Ricky produced. The song was performed by Currensy featuring Freck Billionaire entitled "Drug Flow."

In April of '09, he linked with Yung Berg and the Yung Boss Music group, producing a handful of songs for them. The most recent being "The World Is Yours" featurin K Smith (Will Smith's nephew). Also linking with Tommy Hilfiger's, son Rich Hil, to create the smooth but classy song entitled "Baby" off of his mixtape "Lost Limos Part II." In late May 2009, The Colorado Kid Ricky Jewelz released his street single "On Me" produced by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins. Which has been accepted greatly by the fans of hip hop nation wide. As well as his new mixtape "Rebel Wit A Cause" you can download that for free all over the internet (datpiff).

One question he often gets is "What is it that you do or have to make these major artist/producers want to work with you?." It's the grind, dedication and passion this young talented 19 yr old Rap Artist/Songwriter/Producer contains. It’s well known the industry may have a new heavy weight on their hands. Unsigned, and still as ambitious as ever, Rick is keeping his head high, and skills sharp, awaiting the day success knocks on his door, until then it’s Jewelz Season!

I know this is very 'broken record,' but in the entertainment business, it's crucial to be one with more than just one aspect of entertainment. Just doing one thing doesn't cut it nowadays folks, Ricky Jewelz takes the concept of being 'versatile' to a whole new level with his singing, producing, songwriting and rapping. Ricky has a project entitled "The WORK" droppin' this June, I HIGHLY advise you keep an eye out for that. People like Mr. Jewelz will have a VERY long and bright future in the music industry, it's very evident by the content below. Below, you can catch his Darkchild-produced banger, "On Me," as well as a joint, that until today, was unreleased. The song I speak of is entitled "Walkin' Tall," with Team Green on the beat (Team Green fux with Shawty Redd so you already know what it is with the production) Also below, you can catch Ricky's mixtape "Rebel With A Cause." Make sure to check out the music, and ALSO make sure to peep his contact info below...mark my words folks, Ricky Jewelz goes ham on this music stuff...DO...NOT...SLEEP on the future of the industry!!!
